Hi, I'm Rebecca.

A COACH, PHILOSOPHY GRADUATE, TRAINEE COUNSELLOR & PSYCHOTHERAPIST, SWIMMER & MNU CERTIFIED NUTRITIONIST

My appreciation for how important nutrition is for health and sports performance is rooted in my experience at University. Whilst studying Philosophy in Manchester, I swam competitively with an intense full-time swimming and studying schedule. The pressures of juggling competing, training and life outside of sport informs how and why I coach. Since shifting my focus away from competing I have worked as a Chef, a Coach, studied with Mac-Nutrition Uni (MNU) and trained in Counselling. I draw upon all of this to help clients with their food choices and acknowledge that what we eat is an intersection of bio-psycho-social factors.

My particular interests include environmental impact of food choices; how to navigate being a plant-based athlete; RED-S; body image; navigating appearance ideals, life transitions (e.g. retiring athletes) and humanistic counselling.

MY APPROACH TO COACHING

COACHING IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO WORK ON YOUR UNIQUE SET OF GOALS AND FIND A WAY OF EATING THAT SERVES YOU IN THE LONG-TERM.

ACCOUNTABILITY. INTEGRITY. EMPATHY.

1-2-1 coaching offers personalised nutrition guidance and accountability. My framework is person-centred which means that we will work together to explore your goals and you will lead the way. I am neither pro nor anti dieting, it is your choice whether you choose to pursue making physical changes to your body. I will support you with a balanced view of nutrition research and challenge you to make decisions that align with your values. If your goal is to improve your relationship with food, it is probable that a fat-loss pursuit will be put to one side so that we can focus on how you experience food. You’ll learn nutrition science applied to your context, gain the confidence to make your own decisions and work on the psychological side of eating in our on going sessions and reflections outside the check-ins.
