Psychotherapy
Online and in-person therapy in Bristol.
This is separate to my Nutrition services and does not need to relate to food or nutrition, that said you are of course welcome to explore food related concerns during our sessions.
Hi, I’m Rebecca, I’m a MBACP registered Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist in Bristol. I work with a range of concerns from general anxiety, low self-esteem and stress to gender identity, sexuality and trauma. I'm not a blank-slate therapist, I bring my authentic self to the work with the hope that you'll be able to also.
'Integrative' means that I draw upon different theories to suit you, my approach is predominantly grounded in Psychodynamic, Existential and Person-centred theory. It’s a collaborative endeavour that promotes your personal agency whilst holding my own experience and theoretical understandings. Simply put, I focus on who you are, who you have been and who you are becoming in relation to yourself and others.
I believe relational therapy can be a matrix of profound, long-lasting change. I’ll challenge you thoughtfully, and bring a curiosity to our sessions with a hope that we can understand your history, your struggles and the changes you desire. I appreciate that therapy can be hard and the first steps incredibly daunting, I hope to create a space where what matters to you feels important and the changes you seek feel possible.
Experience
I have worked as a therapist for Bristol MIND LGBTQ+ and The Swan Project, a charity offering low-cost, long-term counselling primarily to those with an active addiction or in recovery. I have worked privately as a Nutritionist in both a general health setting and sports performance, particularly with athletes wanting to recover from RED-S. I am experienced in helping people navigate body-image related issues and eating behaviours.

Further Info
In my experience as a client, taking the first step into therapy can be difficult. I offer a friendly and confidential space to hear your problems, no matter how large they may feel. I also appreciate how for some, an element of mutual lived experience can be important; as a Queer woman, I bring both lived and professional insight into navigating sexuality. My practise is trauma-informed and takes a systemic lens that acknowledges the relevancy of your social context.
I'm fully insured; DBS checked, have regular supervision as per the BACP requirements and engage with regular CPD to inform my practise.
If you’re wondering if working together could be a positive step forward for you, get in touch via the contact form and we can have a (free) phone call to see if I can help.
